Can you remember new topics easily?
Quantum learning shows the way
Quantum learning is a learning technique that you were born with. Inquisitive, listening, touching, seeing, experiencing all new things with an open enquiring mind.
As you progressed through school you had a lot of these natural tendencies suppressed either by yourself (fear of being told off) or by your peer group (fear of being different).
Your progress through this cycle of learning was further suppressed because it was easier to copy the efforts of others i.e. your learning strategies eventually locked you into a box of limited learning abilities.
To some extent some schools and colleges are understanding this inhibited way of learning and are making some progress in the areas of Quantum learning strategies.
When you need to learn a new subject think how you would have approached it as a child. You would have jumped right into it no holds barred. No fear of getting it wrong, no fear of being told off, no fear of your peers mocking you. You would have made mistake after mistake until you got it right.
A good example of this is when you first tried to walk as a baby. You would have fallen over many times, and your parents would have encouraged you each time, to try again. Then one day 'Hey Presto' you could walk. It's the same with learning to drive a car, or learn any new subject. Don't be put off with the name 'Quantum learning', it's just a shorter way of stating 'that you can learn anything, including driving a car, if you go the natural way about it'.
Why is it that those same parents, in later years might suggest to you that you can't do this, or learn that, it's too difficult. By making that statement the seeds of doubt are already sown into your nervous system.
Quantum learning is about bringing a sense of creativity to teaching and learning with ever-increasing 'wow' moments of discovery. It helps teachers to present their content a way that engages and energizes students. Quantum learning also integrates learning and life skills, resulting in students who become effective lifelong learners fully responsible for their own education and in the realm of driving, fully responsible for the safety of all concerned.
Quantum learning on your driving lessons encourages you to be that child again. Since after all you are a child in every new subject you are trying to learn. Never be afraid to ask your driving instructor what you might think of as a dumb question. To an outstanding driving instructor there is no such thing as a dumb question.
If I had never boiled an egg before and I said to you, do I boil it in water or oil? Do I take the shell off first? Do I add salt to the oil? You might think they are dumb questions, but to me they are not if I have never boiled an egg.
If I did not have you to advise me I might try all of the methods before I came to the right answer. By me taking you on as my mentor in egg boiling you could advise me and this would reduce the time it had taken me to learn how to boil an egg.
That's the same with your driving lessons, your instructor will reduce the time it takes for you to learn all about driving by simply showing you and guiding you throughout your training process. Quantum learning is just that. A shorter way to learn a new subject and at the same time retain that new knowledge for longer.
